Alafrah Co. has been reckoned as one of the pioneering companies in the ambit of bleachers and detergents in Syria. Its products were synonymous to high quality and distinct. Sequel, it has gained the reliance of its customers domestically and outwards.
The Company passed through several phases of growth could be summed up as thus:
1st phase : Soap and Bleachers Manufacturing
This period persisted from 1951 to 1974. The focus was based on the establishment of the company in addition to manufacturing two major products. They were soap and bleachers.
Despite the fact that the plant was in its inception, it could utilize methods not prevalent for similar detergents manufacturers then. Its products were marked by lovely odor and sublime performance if collated with identicals.
2nd phase : Detergents production
This period persisted from 1974 to 1983. The company supplemented detergents to soap and bleachers manufacturing.
In 1975 the company expanded its plants to respond to the growing demand in concern of its products specifically upon automatic washing machines spread which resulted in higher demand for detergents.
3rd phase: Majoring at detergents and bleachers for automatic and ordinary washing machines.
This period persisted from 1983 to 2004. It was marked by the increasing demand regarding the detergents of ordinary and automatic washing machines to match the enormous demographic growth in Syria.
Hence the plant dilated its business domestically and globally. It initiated exporting its products to former Soviet Union Republics which have been deemed to be a significant market for Alfrah Co. at that era.
4th phase : Marketing , Administrative and Manufacturing Updating
This period persisted from 2004 to 2009. It was featured by re- structing to escort the recent developments in the spheres of marketing and administration. Hence the 1st fifth year plan has been mapped out to focus on establishing distributing centers in the major Syrian zones.
New two expansions have been carried out to go in line with the market growth, designing and releasing new brand names apart from broadening export markets.
It is worthy mentioning that at this phase, the company recruited domestic and universal consultants to scale up the products quality and regulating the administrative and marketing mechanisms
5th stage : The Growth and Proliferation
This phase commenced in the prime of 2010 as Alafrah Co. turned to be a part of Shawaf Group for Industry and Commerce Ltd which includes multi- industrial and commercial activities.
Another stride has been finalized represented in nominating three agents in Al Rakka, Dier Al Zour and Al Hasaka to access Syria entirely.
It is significant to state down that the external proliferation has been broadened which required appointing an agent in Yemen.
In the area of manufacturing, a new plant for mixing and filling dishwashing liquid has been inaugurated apart from constructing new warehouses for the company.
In its continuous strive for better; Shawaf Group obtained ISO 9001:2008 in addition to Conformity Certificate from Syrian Organization for Standardization and Metrology.
The Company currently at the point of formulating its 2nd fifth year plan which is going to cover the period from 2011 to 2015.
